YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley announced today at SXSW that in a month’s time he will launch a collaborative content solution to tackle the self-obsessed social media trend.
Whilst being interviewed by fellow digital entrepreneur and Digg co-founder Kevin Rose, Chad talked through his business ventures – setting up PayPal, YouTube and going onto acquire Delicious. But he explained that the recent trend in social media is heavily focused on people’s obsession with how they’re being judged. This is a trend he hopes to over come with his latest business venture.
When questioned about the legacy he has left, Hurley apologised for the fact that Justin Bieber was discovered on YouTube, which was met by a round of applause at the Austin Hilton!
